With a big ceremony attended by neither the Mayor nor the Governor,
7 World Trade Center officially re-opened on May 25th, reports the New York Daily News and the New York Post. The building has 52 floors, and is built on top of a Con Ed substation, which provides electricity to lower Manhattan.
Until the political climate changes dramatically in the Middle East, it
is obvious to all that the 7 WTC building will be a target for another
terrorist attack. And employers' unwillingness to lease space in
the building is common sense. Heck, getting insurance coverage
will be difficult if not outright impossible. The ownership
should count their blessings if even half the building is occupied by
the end of this year.
