It was bound to happen, sooner or later. The Bit Torrent
technology, often synonymous with illegal downloads and piracy, has
finally hooked a big fish---Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group.
In a press release issued Tuesday, WB will use Bit Torrent to offer downloads of its movies and television shows over the internet.
While the details are sketchy so far, this agreement may encourage
illegal pirates to pay for legitimate downloads of their favorite shows
(obviously price will be a major consideration). And if so, other
studios will follow suit and license BT to offer their own programs and
movies for download over the internet.
It looks like my high school classmate and math team-mate Bram Cohen will be rolling in dough, sooner or later. LOL
