The New York Lottery is offering a new
instant scratch-off game called "Win For Life Spectacular."
This game costs a whopping $20, and offers a top prize of
$10,000 a week for life, with a guaranteed payout of $10 million to the
winner or his estate.
As a regular buyer of instant scratch games, I think a $20 game is a
poor bargain because if you win nothing on your game piece, it's 20
bucks in the trash. For $20, I can buy two pieces of the King Kong game, with a top prize of $8 million, or two pieces of the Set For Life game, with a $5,000 a week for life payout; either game would give two chances of winning something.
