An ugly chapter in New York City history is finally closed.
As reported
by the Associated Press, Assistant Captain Richard Smith, the pilot of
the Staten Island ferry crash in 2003, received an 18 months prison
sentence for negligent manslaughter. The director, Patrick
Ryan,
got 1 year and a day prison sentence. May these sentencings
bring
closure to the victims' familes.
