Commentary:
It's hard to believe that it's been a year since Hurricane Katrina made
landfall and struck New Orleans. While the neighboring Biloxi,
Mississippi is getting back to normal, the progress has been far slower
in New Orleans, partially because the devastation was much greater.
New Yorkers can do their share by considering visiting New Orleans when
it becomes feasible (Mardi Gras anyone? ^^). Tourism is the major
source of revenue for this city, and taking a trip there is a way to
support New Orleans.
